Virginia has a slightly lower than national average of residents who are over the age of 65. Currently,

11.6% of Virginia residents are seniors. The US average is 12.4%. Currently there are over 886,000

As defined by the Virginia Dept. of Social Services, Assisted Living Facilities are non-medical

residential settings. These “ALF’s” provide or coordinate personal services, as well as health care
